Our take on most orbs is basically dust, we have investigated a few dusty locations as well as done some tests with duvet's where out VIPS pets sleep and have created many types of orb effects on night vision camera's.

We are rarely surprised by orbs but light trails are somewhat of a mystery..

Hello, I was wondering if you can tell me about the surrounding areas of Hatley Castle and the cemetery? On March 28th/08, my sister and I were taking photos at the cemetery at night. It was a foggy night when we pulled in and parked just before the first round about. We stepped out and took some pictures with our digital camera and noticed fog in the pictures right away. After we were done, we came home and uploaded the photos onto the computer and discovered 1 picture had what appeared to be a woman in a dark dress. Upon further concentration of the picture, we have found a couple what appears to be paying their respects to a lost loved one, a little boy, an angel and a few other faces. One day while I decided to enlarge the picture and started to notice what appeared to be house lights and then the design was coming into view. It was a big house on a hill. I thought that it was odd cause the houses there today you can hardly see due to the fence. This year I had access to a computer hooked up to a projector and was just amazed at the size of the house with steps, waterwheel and even you can see a person walking down the steps and someone in the window. All the other figures were just as awe inspiring as before. So, do you know of a house like this or is this a house from some other place? Thanks for your help. Stephen

My classmates and I went to a play at the McPherson Theater. We saw the hobbit. I was the in a seat next to the isle. I looked up and no one was in the booth above me and my friend. 25 minutes went by and as I looked up, I saw a lady with gray hair pacing in front of the seats in the booth. I didn't think anything would happen, but then surprisingly she got up on the edge of the booth and just simply jumped off. I just about screamed when my friend bumped me on the shoulder and asked me what was wrong. I told her what I saw. She simply thought I was crazy. But I know what I saw and I know what I saw was real because my friend from another school saw the same exact thing and so did his three other friends. The lady with gray hair must have killed herself for some reason. I did research and the same exact story came up on the paranormal site. So now when I go to the theater. I know that if I look up at the booth, I will know I'm not crazy when I see the gray haired lady jump off the booth.

One day while visiting the castle. I leaned in over the the gated area in Mrs. Joan Dunsmuir private sitting room, to get a better look. I never saw anything, but I felt very cold and a feeling that I was not welcomed, in such a way, I jumped back. It was a very strange feeling. Any others that have felt this?

I wanted to jion this group so if you do plan on doing this again I would love to be part of it. I also had a death in my family and she was a hoader just like the tv show also. This alone was very painful to clean up. Our job took 9 garbage bags just to open the front door. She was a very tiny lady and a average person could not get into the house. Also under all this junk was a propane stove. I dont know how she did not set the place on fire!
Let me know if you have any meeting starting up again. Or if you need help with going throuh the evidence.
Thanks

I posted a comment which disproves the myth of the Mystic Spring but the comment got removed for obvious reasons.
This story of the Mystic Spring needs editing anyways.
There is not, nor has there ever been a Mystic Spring.
The legend of the Mystic Spring was made up by David Higgins in 1904. He loosely based his story on fragments of true aboriginal folklore and beliefs. He also added to his story two incidences in the 1860s concerning two young women. Given the ethnocentric nature of the story and the amount of misinformation in it, it is easily to deduce that Higgins did not obtain his information on aboriginal beliefs from Coast Salish informants but rather from conversations inside the white community.
The characteristics and special powers Higgins attributes to the Mystic Spring are actually associated with so many ponds and springs throughout the Coast Salish world. For example, there was a natural pond in Summit Park where Coast Salish women would go to see reflections of future husbands. Those qualities are not attributed to just one spring. Even if that springs existed, there would have been nothing special about it.
The Wsanic' and Songhees oral tradition speaks of only one secluded pond along Hobbs Creek which drains Mystic Vale. However, that pond had nothing to do with the Mystic Spring that Higgins speaks of. It was not fed by water coming from the side of the hill and it was not guarded by a huge and ancient maple tree. Higgins states it was cut down in about 1888. Photography of Cadboro Bay from way before this time shows Hobbs Creek flowing through Cadboro Bay. No huge maples are visible in that or in other photos taken from before that time. In addition, a maple tree does not mean a huge one because maples only live up to about 200 years which makes it almost impossible for a maple to be considered an 'ancient' tree.
Historically, the "prayer pools" of Mystic Vale were formed by the creek. They were fed by aquifer water (springs) from aquifer 686 Gordon Head III. However, the pools got most of their water from the creek. In other words, once the springs entered the creek, they got engulfed by it. Those prayer pools were associated with spirits beings.
The name Mystic Spring was made up by Higgins. Mystic features in Cadboro Bay such as Mystic Creek, Mystic Pond and Mystic Vale are named after the Mystic Spring.
The Mystic Spring is not attributable to Coast Salish tradition.
Even though the story is fiction, it stil made its way into the realm of credible and valid sources and literature. One question that a lot of people ask to day is, where is the Mystic Spring? Different sources give different locations. The creation of artificial ponds and springs in the 30s and 40s even added to this confusion.

Does anyone know if there are any spirits or paranormal activity at the Roxy Theatre in Victoria?
I was on a date there recently, sitting in the bench in the back right corner of the theatre, when my boyfriend and I both saw what appeared to be someone walking up the aisle to the door to the lobby area. As it was beside us, the appearance turned to a yellowish light (dim) and then disappeared.
It was a slightly darker part of the movie, so it was harder to see, so it was not a surprise to see simply a dark shape approaching the door behind us. It is odd as we both turned our attention to the object approaching our direction, without neither of us commenting. And we were both perplexed when the object disappeared beside us, and was obviously not a person.
We looked for natural explanations, such as lighting or shadows from the movie, or through the window on the door to the lobby, but could not come up with anything. The wierdest part was the sensation that we both experienced that someone was there.
We have tried to research online for any information regarding the Roxy, but have been unable to find anything. Does anyone have any knowledge or heard anything of this theatre?

Visited the museum yesterday with no thought of ghosts or knowledge of the place being haunted. As I started walking down the steps from the third floor, I heard footsteps behind me and sensed the presence of a woman - i think, before reaching the first landing, I looked over my right shoulder and glimpsed a swish of white fabric... it was a strange sensation, I turned all the way around but there was no one there. My husband who was half a flight ahead, saw and heard nothing.
